Let’s Learn The Basics of Academia Aesthetic Fashion
Alright, let’s check them out!
Ocean Academia Outfits
White Shirt + Blue Sweatshirt + Black Mini Skirt:
It’s so beautiful with the pastel blue sweatshirt. Besides, I think pairing a navy sweatshirt with a white pleated miniskirt will be nice too. And since the sweatshirt is one of the mains of this outfit, I suggest getting a graphic sweatshirt that is related to the ocean such as sea animals, marine, anchors, sea waves, etc. That way it is more suitable for ocean academia outfits.
Navy Collared Sweater + White Pants:
Collared sweaters are relatively rare but if you have one, that will be great! Because it is one of the best items you can make good use of for creating academic looks. And I REALLY love the combination of navy blue and white. This outfit looks stylish and has calm, composed, peaceful vibes. And it makes people think the person who wears this outfit is somehow intellectual.
White Shirt + Navy Sweater Vest:
This outfit is very minimal, clean, and kind of chic. It’s a good one to wear at the office, academic workplace, or formal occasion. When you wear this outfit in those places, people will very likely think you are professional.
White Shirt + Navy Plaid Sweater Vest:
Did you feel that? This outfit is much cuter than the last one because of the plaid pattern and also because it is a cropped (shorter) sweater vest. It’s classic to pair this top with a mini skirt. But if you want to try something new, pairing it with black slacks is not a bad idea!
White Shirt + Pale Blue Plaid Sweater Vest + Gray Slacks:
As you can see, using a lighter blue makes the outfit look completely different. It not only looks gentler and more feminine but also looks perfect with grey slacks. (Blue & Gray is a nice color combination to use for ocean academia outfits too.) In addition, a watch with gray straps is an awesome accessory for this outfit.
White Shirt + Blue Houndstooth Sweater Vest:
Similar to a plaid pattern, the houndstooth pattern is also something you can apply to academia fashion. It could differ from person to person but I personally prefer a smaller houndstooth pattern because it looks more understated and more refined.
Ivory Shirt + Patterned Sweater Vest + Beige Slacks / White Mini Skirt:
Blending the neutral colors and blue naturally is one thing that I really like about this outfit. And pairing a simple outfit (solid shirt and pants) with the irregular pattern sweater vest is a brilliant idea! If I see someone wear like this, I would think she has a good taste in fashion.
White Sailor Collared Top + Navy Pleated Mini Skirt:
This outfit may remind you of some types of Japanese high school uniforms which are inspired by sailors’ uniforms. Maybe it’s too cute for some people but if you are a fan of cute outfits, I highly recommend you try it out!
White Shirt + Patterned Sweater Vest + Navy Flared Midi Skirt:
- Honestly, this outfit looks better with a miniskirt but I think a long skirt is also a good try. Actually, since lots of people will wear miniskirts because it’s more classic, wearing a long skirt is more unique and will set you apart from other people.
- One of the reasons this outfit looks good is that the colors of the top and bottom (the vest and skirt) are similar but slightly different. It diversifies the outfit a little bit but still looks harmonious. And because of the similar color tone, you can see that the black leather bag perfectly fits this outfit. Also, the graphic on the vest makes the outfit look more casual which is nice.
Blue Turtleneck Sweater + Blue Plaid Flared Midi Skirt:
You can have a very modest, ladylike, and elegant look as long as you wear a turtleneck sweater and a flared midi skirt together. Compared with the common dark academia outfits that use brown, beige, gray, black, and other neutral colors, this outfit will more likely make people say wow because of the blue color. Moreover, a brighter blue like this one is more eye-catching instead of navy blue.
White Sailor Dress:
A white sailor dress has a pure and innocent image which is very flattering. The design of the blue bow and blue stripes at the edges is simple yet impressive and without that, the dress wouldn’t be so extraordinary. You can see that even if the two white sailor dresses are quite alike, they look and feel different when the tones of the blue stripes (navy blue and light blue) are different.
Blue & White Sailor Dress / Two-piece Set:
This is a dress but you can also pair a white top with a navy skirt to make this look. You can make a change to this outfit as well. For example, you can replace the navy bow with a navy necktie and find a nice shirt that matches the necktie (the bottom remains the same). I think it will look cool too.
Blue Plaid Sailor Dress:
To me, it’s quite fresh to see a sailor dress with a plaid pattern. Because of that, it looks like an academia outfit indeed. And to be honest, it’s hard to find a second item like this one that fits ocean academia outfits so well.
Blue Flared Sailor Dress:
A flared dress is nice too because it usually makes an outfit look more feminine and cuter, especially when the sleeves are puff sleeves and the waistline is accentuated. As for the color, navy is great but you can also consider a pastel blue one which looks girlier.
