It is a relatively new clothing brand founded in 2022. It specializes in high-quality loungewear, sleepwear, and lingerie with oriental aesthetics.
In addition to its bestselling items: charmeuse printed kimono robes and pajama sets, it has other products like different types of robes, dresses, bodysuits, slippers, and accessories (sleep eye masks, pillow covers, scarves, scrunchies, traditional Chinese sachets, etc.).
The founders desire to share oriental aesthetics with the world.
They bridge the East and West through their brand, offering products that combine traditional elements rooted in East Asian cultures with contemporary fashion.
Meanwhile, they want to make women feel comfortable and refined in their everyday lives.
So far, this brand has successfully won a lot of women’s appreciation.

I particularly relate to this brand because I am a native East Asian.
Believe it or not, when I took the fashion design illustration class as an undergraduate (my major was Clothing & Textiles), the theme of one of my collections was “Korean Aesthetic“, which is a kind of oriental aesthetics.
I chose that because I am interested in oriental aesthetics and passionate about sharing it with others. (When you check out some other posts in this blog, you will find that I also wrote posts about (East) Asian traditional costumes such as Qipao, Hanbok, and Kimono.)
So I am glad and honored to have this wonderful opportunity to introduce Ulivary to you.

My Experience & Review
My Thoughts Before & After Receiving It
- Before I received this kimono robe, I imagined that wearing it could be my small daily ritual that helps me relieve my stress and have a relaxed evening after I get off work. And you know what? My mood shifted very quickly after I put on the robe after work. It’s like somebody’s telling me “It’s time to relax and enjoy your evening.” Sometimes, I felt like I was at a hotel on vacation. (In fact, I was just at home!) All I did was put on the robe before going to bed. Can you believe that?
- I think this Garden Crane Black Kimono Robe is extremely chic and has a noble look. I feel like I could wear it for over five years without getting tired of it. That’s what I thought before I received the robe, and after seeing it in person, I’m even more certain about that.
- To be honest, I never had a robe before. And I kinda wanted one. (I had experience of wearing kimono robes when I visited hotels in Japan though, but I have never owned one) This is my first robe ever. I love it and I’m happy to have it! For those who never had a (kimono) robe, Ulivary’s kimono robes will probably give you a fun new experience.
The Details
The Fabric
The kimono robe is made of charmeuse which has a silky look on the front side.
Compared with other sparkly fabrics, the fabric of this robe really won my heart because of its understated gloss. It looks very luxurious and classy.
The outer side is extremely smooth, and the inner side is a bit rough (compared to the outer side). But that doesn’t make me feel uncomfortable at all when I wear it.
It is noticeably thin and lightweight. I love the way the robe flows as I walk, especially when I untie it.
The Print
The print is amazingly beautiful. (Seriously!)
When I looked closely at the print, I discovered that each part was slightly different. The same patterns (geometric designs, cranes, peonies, and other flowers) repeat, but in different combinations.
“The crane, a symbol of good fortune and longevity, embodies peace and elegance.” This was what I read on Ulivary’s website.
Peonies have been adored by Chinese people for a long time in their history. They are certainly part of Chinese culture.
As for the round geometric pattern you see in the picture, most people can feel the vibe of oriental beauty as soon as they see it.
Most prints on Ulivary’s products are inspired by nature (which is timeless) such as flowers, leaves, animals, and landscapes. Some pieces with prints like lotus, bamboo, phoenix, Chinese ink painting, folding fan, etc. will take you into a mysterious oriental world.
The Vibe
I realized it is extremely oriental when I saw it in person. Way more oriental than what I saw at the online store and what I expected.
And that’s exactly what I wanted.
I chose the kimono robe that is the classiest and most oriental in my eyes.
Not only does it make me feel special and stand out fashionably, but it also allows me to share Asian culture with others. It’s a wonderful thing, isn’t it?
By the way, wearing it made me feel like I had gone back to ancient China, which was a fun experience.
The Length
I hesitated between long robes and short ones. I am 159cm tall (about 5′ 3″) and was worried that the long one could be too long for me, and might touch the floor (which I hope not).
Eventually, I chose the long one because I prefer a chic look to a cute look. (If you prefer a cute look, I recommend you get the short kimono robe) I also thought I could shorten the length by tying the robe properly. (I tried and it worked!)
It turned out I didn’t need to worry about it. When I wear the robe, it doesn’t touch the floor. It comes to my ankles when I untie the robe. I’m glad I chose the long one. The length is literally perfect for me.
Tips for Petite Women (under 5’4″ = 162.56 cm) who want to wear a Long Kimono Robe (if it’s too long for you):
- Tie the waist tie and pull the upper part of the robe up a little bit (See the video). When I do this, the length is shortened to the middle of my calves.
- Wear high heels outside or platform slippers at home so that the robe won’t touch the floor.
Pros & Cons
Pros:
- Easy to care since it’s machine washable
- Smooth & Soft Fabric
- Impressive Hand-painted Print
- Silky & Expensive Look

- Comfy & Relaxing
- Feels luxurious at a relatively affordable price compared to other famous luxury brands. (No need to go to deluxe hotels. You can have luxurious experiences at your cozy home by simply wearing a premium kimono robe.)
- Being stylish whenever you wear it. (Whether at home or going out)
- Timeless Design (I don’t think it will go out of style, especially the black one I got.)
- Versatile. I can create many different outfits with it for various occasions.
- Suitable for most women of different ages, heights, and sizes (One Size Fits from S to XL).
Cons:
- The waist tie comes undone and the robe loosens sometimes because the fabric is so smooth and slippery.
- It is a little bit inconvenient when washing my face and hands because of the wide sleeves.
- I feel kind of hot when I wear the robe, especially when there’s no breeze. But that’s just my personal experience. Some other people said they didn’t feel hot.
- Small wrinkles showed up after wearing it a couple of times. But it’s not that obvious unless you look at it closely.
My Solutions to The Problems:
- Tie the waist tie tightly and you will be fine.
- That’s normal for all the clothes with wide sleeves. Just be careful not to let the sleeves get wet.
- If you feel hot when you wear the robe, turn the fan or air conditioner on. Or go somewhere cool, such as a cafe, shopping mall, or beach.
- Use the loop (What a thoughtful design!) to hang it instead of folding it and putting it into your wardrobe. When you travel, fold it nicely. By doing so, there will be less chance to have wrinkles.
By the way, there are no pockets. It can be a pro or con depending on how you think. To me, it’s not a big deal. And honestly, I think it’s better without pockets so that it remains elegant and stylish.
Is It Suitable as a Gift?
Definitely! Here’s why:

Outfit Idea #1: The Easiest Way to Be Classy & Elegant
…is to wear the robe as a dress!
It is a robe but it can also be a wrap dress.
Try tying the waist tie differently to diversify the look. For instance, you can tie a bow at the front center, the side, or even the back.
To upgrade your elegant look, I recommend doing updo hair instead of letting your hair undone.
Outfit Idea #2: A Touch of Sexiness
Wear the robe with a little black dress to maximize your femininity and glamour.
I paired it with a black lingerie dress to coordinate the color and create a visible contrast between the “long” robe and the “short” dress.
And guess what? You can exude a little bit of sexiness through this outfit.
Perfect for a romantic date night!
Outfit Idea #3: Make It Different
Girls and women who wear basic tops, jeans, and heels are everywhere in cities.
What if you just add a printed kimono robe to this outfit?

Outfit Idea #6: All-Black Outfit
Gather all the black clothes, accessories, and shoes from your wardrobe, and let’s mix and match them with the robe to create all-black outfits that turn heads.
This way, the only thing colored will be the print of the kimono robe, and your robe will be much more prominent and appealing!
Or you can incorporate your own idea. For my outfit, I used a small red bag as an accent to enhance the look.
Styling with the kimono robe is not that difficult. You can simply pair it with basic items you already have in your wardrobe to create multiple stylish outfits like I did.
You can see I created different outfits with the same items. For example, I wore the same jeans for outfits #3 and #4, the same white striped tank top and flat sandals for outfits #4 and #5, and the same black top and ankle boots for outfits #3 and #6.
I don’t recommend wearing print on print (pairing printed clothes with other printed clothes) though. Because that will be too distracting and not let the printed kimono robe stand out. (That’s just not for me, but I won’t stop you if you want to try.)

Is It Worth the Price?
The price of Ulivary’s products is approximately $12 ~ $260 USD (without sales). As for kimono robes and other robes, it’s approximately $88 ~ $260 USD (including sets and without sales).
Some people may think that’s kind of pricey. So I would like to explain why this is a reasonable price:
- The quality of Ulivary’s products and services is confirmed by my experience and by reviews from many other women I found online. (I don’t think all of them are fake and you can check them by yourself.)
- When you buy something from Ulivary, you don’t only get the product. You also get the experience and feeling when you unbox the gift-like package and every time you wear that product. The experience and feeling that are luxurious, relaxing, comfortable, fabulous, enjoyable, fun, etc. Moreover, Ulivary helps you become the classy woman you’ve dreamed of. As long as you commit yourself to wearing them for a long time.)
