Pasadena

Have you ever heard Rose Bowl Game or Rose Parade? That’s right! Both of them are big events in Pasadena. In this post, I will be your little tour guide, letting you know what to eat, where to shop, secret spots, and facts about this city. Before we begin, let me tell you how to get to Pasadena. There are several metro stations in Pasadena so you can easily get there by taking the Gold Line of Los Angeles Metro. On that day, we got off at the Fillmore Station and started exploring.

What to Eat?

On the way to the first destination, I saw a few restaurants/stores that caught my eyes. I have to admit that a mix of Pizza and Eye of Providence(the one on the US$1 bill) is very Creative and Artistic.👏(It’s a pizza restaurant)

Now we arrived at The First Destination: Miss Cheese Tea Cafe. It is a cozy cafe with a bright space, offering various beverages, snacks, and desserts. What’s interesting is that you will see Taiwanese Food(Boba drinks), Korean Food(Bingsu/Korean Shaved Ice), Japanese Food(Taiyaki and Takoyaki), and Western Food(Crepe and Pancake, etc.) in this cafe. How international!!!😂

I ordered Souffle Lava Flow Boba Pancake because I am a BIG FAN of BOBA and I wondered about the taste of the combination of boba and souffle pancake. (I will never tell you that this is my purpose of visiting Pasadena🤫) I’m glad that the pancake didn’t disappoint me.❤️ Better NOT check out their Instagram because you will see a bunch of mouth-watering photos that make you hungrey.🤤

Where to Shop?

After having my pancake, we went to a plaza in front of Pasadena Civic Auditorium(the first picture of this post) and The Paseo. The Paseo is a shopping place where you can see H&M, DSW, Victoria’s Secret, Bath & Body Works, and so on. Starbucks, Coldstone, and other restaurants can also be found.

  • Heather Grey Knit Sweater
  • Exotic Printed Midi Skirt(Click HERE to see the different look & similar items!)
  • Burgundy Leather Ankle Boots
  • White Crossbody Bag
  • Red Vintage Oval Sunglasses

Fashion Tips: A simple solid knit sweater with a printed skirt will be a good balance. To match the Heather Grey Knit Sweater, I chose my White Crossbody Bag and Silver Long Necklace. Grey, White, and Silver are similar colors so they match well. But it might look a little bit boring if you only use achromatic colors. Adding a colored fashion item is always helpful. In my case, I got Blue Skirt, Burgundy Ankle Boots, and Red Sunglasses. Some similar items are here, click it to see the details if you are interested! 😉

On the west side, there is another area to explore!

Finding treasure in the second-hand clothing store is so fun, isn’t it? If you are interested in second-hand clothing, there is a shop called Crossroads Trading near Old Pasadena. And there is another second-hand clothing store originated from Japan called 2nd STREET a couple of blocks away, which is also on Melrose Avenue in LA. The one I walked in was Crossroads Trading and I saw these pretty little things. Kinda regret that didn’t buy this Lip Print Dress and Rose Embroidered Mules…🥺 Sometimes you gotta take the chance when you find something you really like because you never know if you can see that again or not.

Lips and Rose are two of my favorite motifs for fashion items. They are Feminine, Confident, Mysterious, Sexy, and Enchanting…I believe they are attractive to both men and women. What do you think?

If you want to take a break, Intelligentsia Coffee Pasadena Coffeebar is a good place for you. It’s a cafe that has a nice interior, and it’s pretty close to the second-hand clothing store Crossroads Trading.😉

The Loveliest Station in Pasadena

I accidentally found Del Mar Station on my way back to LA. It is another Gold Line metro station in Pasadena. Honestly, I didn’t know that Orange & Blue can be so harmonious!

Waiting for the next metro train didn’t make me bored at all, instead, it was a good time to take a couple of pictures of this lovely station.

Pasadena

Last but not least, let me give you some facts about Pasadena. You might already notice from the Rose Bowl Game and Rose Parade that the official flower of this city is the Rose🌹(Check the picture of Pasadena map above, you will see the Rose Logo!🔍) And yes, that is one of the reasons why I like Pasadena because I love anything related to Rose. If you are a Rose lover like me, you better not miss visiting this city! Although it was a short one-day trip, I feel that Pasadena is a very clean and well-organized city, hope you can feel that too and enjoy your day in Pasadena!
